Kale Chips

Ingredients Needed:

  • 16 oz of fresh Russian Red Kale (any Kale will do too)
  • Lg mixing bowl
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
  • Sea Salt and Pepper
  • Cayenne Pepper

 

  1. Preheat your oven or toaster to 350 degrees
  2. In your large mixing bowel place your rinsed and dried off Kale (dry with a paper towel).
  3. Chop into medium plus sized pieces with the stems removed.  Kids may like to try and chew on them just for fun but Kale tends to be tough.  The Kale will shrink when baking.
  4. Drizzle a small amount of EVOO (1 tbsp) onto the Kale and mix the Kale to help coat the pieces.
  5. Be sure not to overcoat the Kale so it doesn’t become limp and can maintain its’ texture.
  6. Sprinkle with seasoning of Cayenne pepper, Sea Salt and Pepper.
  7. Bake in either a toaster oven or oven for about 12 minutes.  Keep an eye that the Kale does not burn.
