Event: 1st day of school and more.
Location: Paul Ecke Central Elementary School 185 Union Street, Encinitas, CA 92024

On Monday August 20th we will be celebrating our first day back to school embracing our new Garden/Produce shMove to Trashed that students will be using as part of the a hands on learning curriculum.  Students will learn to grow food through a science and edible based education during the year.  Guest chefs such as Annel and Drew from the local Leucadia Farmers Market will serve up  their famous “Veggie Cakes” with squash and zucchini from the garden grown by the students on Monday morning during the time everyone gets ready for lineup.  Come and enjoy, “A taste of FRESHNESS.”

Also, the students will get a chance to see the new art work created by Bob Hord and the 101 Artist Colony.  Our “School as a Garden” program was awarded a grant from the City of Encinitas and the Mizel Family Foundation to work on this shed and also teach the students on how to sell what they grow at the local farmers market.
