Art Literacy Volunteers Needed!

Our aim is to introduce art making techniques in a historical/cultural/academic context. When we foster creative thinking, there are proven benefits/applications within all aspects of academic study, at all levels.

Art Literacy Classroom Volunteers are essential to maintaining an effective program. Support the art teacher by helping to setup/breakdown, prepping materials, to allow teacher effective use of time in class instructing children. Volunteers also assist during instruction, guiding students on basic art making techniques. No experience necessary. Just enthusiasm, time and ability to support a focused classroom, and to keep the art room neat and organized. We appreciate your valuable time! The Art Literacy projects will be planned to complement and fortify the regular, core curricula. Lastly, volunteers are encouraged to curate classroom displays – select and hang artwork for display in the primary classroom in collaboration with classroom teachers.

Time Commitment: Whenever you can come, as long as you book it via Laurie or volunteer spot first. Work with your own child’s class and/or others if you are open to it! (Mon/Wednesday or Thursdays)
