Hey Families! We know we are in the hot season of the year, but just a friendly reminder though that PEC is IDLE FREE. That means when you arrive at school your vehicle ignition must be turned off when you are in the pick-up lines for more than 10 seconds.
Vehicle exhaust is linked to increases in asthma, allergies, heart and lung disease and even cancer. Children are especially at risk because their lungs are still developing and they inhale more air per pound of body weight than adults. – Sustainable America
PEC’s pick-up lines run along classrooms on both the Blue and Orange line. Parents waiting for their children outside and in their cars are also negatively impacted by pollution from idling cars.
