Support Our Kids During the PEC Reading Challenge

The 2019 PEC Reading Challenge, “Read-A-Rainbow of Books” or Lée un arcoiris de libros” is scheduled for a 6-week stint beginning Friday, February 1st – Friday, March 15.

The K-3rd grade students will read 100 minutes per week (600 minutes total to win a medal) and tally their weekly minutes in a booklet that is to be turned in to their classroom teacher every Friday.

The 4th -6th graders will have a reading goal set by the Accelerated Reader program for the duration of the reading challenge. This is an online program that tracks the books students read by giving them points when they answer comprehension questions about a book they have read.

Special thanks to the PEC PTA for providing the funding to bring back the beloved annual PEC Reading Challenge and buy the cool medals 😉
